There's always that one person in every class that got on your nerves, right?! Whether it was in elementary school, high school, or college, I guarantee that each of you knows what I am talking about. And if you don't.....well then there's a possibility THAT person could have been you! :-) ha. Well, the same goes for being a teacher in my opinion....but maybe not to the same extreme. I have 3 different grades that I am teaching and I have one student in each grade that likes to press my last nerves! One of them is the biggest tattle-tale...."Mrs. Leah.......so and so was bad because he said one word in Japanese." or "Mrs. Leah, in our last class so and so was bad...." Ugh! haha. Then in another class I have a super smart girl, so I have to challenge her with harder words, etc. However, if she gets it wrong or her team loses, she is the POOREST sport. She misspelled a word today and her friend spelled it right and she had THE meanest look on her face. We also played a spelling game today to review for the test tomorrow and her team lost. She was having a blast until she realized her team lost. At the end of class she said, "That game was stupid." UGH. I wanted to say, "well you wouldn't have thought it was stupid if your team had won!" haha, but that is the 3rd grader in me talking! ha. Anyways, I really do love each one of the kids and they are starting to get more comfortable around me, which is awesome. Also, the kids are really excited for Halloween and they have a big Halloween party at school next Friday. I am trying to think of games/ideas/decorations for Halloween, so if any of you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know!!
Now, onto talking about food! One thing that you will see on the menu in many Japanese restaurants here is Taco Rice. Basically, it is like a taco salad, minus the tortilla shell and served on top of rice. Andrew has had the Taco Rice on base and raved about it. Then we went to a restaurant and he ordered it and did not love it. This restaurant served the taco rice with an egg on top. Interesting, right?! Well, I had yet to try taco rice, so Andrew made it for me a few nights ago. It is a simple meal, healthy, and one I would recommend! All you do is cook the rice, season lean ground beef with taco seasoning, shred up lettuce....and have shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa on hand, and there you go, taco rice baby! Now there is an order to which you put everything on...the base layer is the rice, then the ground beef, next shredded lettuce, then shredded cheese, sour cream, and topped off with salsa. It was so yummy! And I didn't even miss the taco shell or chips! Try it out!
Loved the Classroom post! There is always just one isn't there?
ReplyDeleteNoticed that it's really been windy there. ? Is that normal? Maybe you guys should take up wind-surfing?
PS - This was my "test" to see if the way I posted would be easier. :-)
