On Monday, Andrew and I loaded up Clifford (the big red van--yes, we have a van now) with our bikes and set out to find a place along the coast to bike. We stopped at a random parking lot on the road and just started biking along the sidewalk. Most of the main roads here have sidewalks which is really nice because you can pretty much walk, run, or bike on any road! It was a beautiful day for a bike ride and we rode about 10 miles. We came across some resorts and of course the ones that you can't see from the road are the ones that interest me the most....especially if it is a Ritz Carlton because typically those are very nice. Andrew went off the main road and made our way to the Ritz and it was beautiful! We acted like we were interested in staying there or possibly interested in checking out their restaurant sometime....which we would be, but when I looked at one of the menus and saw that a cheeseburger was 3500 yen (almost $40), I don't think we will ever be dining at the resort.
Check out the Ritz for yourself! I can now say that I've been to the Ritz Carlton in Okinawa....no one has to know I didn't actually stay there! :-) Here I am at one of the beaches we stopped at along the way!
Afterwards, we worked up an appetite for dinner.....so Andrew did steaks on the grill and I was in charge of making the potato. I chose to make
Alexia Oven Reds. They are already seasoned with olive oil, parmesan, and roasted garlic so all you need to do is bake them in the oven and you have a delicious side item. They are also low in calories and fat! If you haven't tried any of Alexia's products, you should.....I have made their sweet potato waffle fries, onion rings, and their spicy sweet potato fries.....all of which are delicious.
This past weekend we also rented the first disc of the first season of Homeland. My sister told me about the show and said it was kind of similar to 24. I am a huge 24 fan, so we decided to take her advice and rent the season. We are hooked. We have only have 1 disc left to watch in Season 1! If you are looking for another show to watch, this is a good one!
I am SO glad you guys started watching Homeland and that you are hooked!! Once you guys are all caught up we have to discuss everything!!
